Happily, we are finally getting some nice spring-type weather for this long weekend. At 4:30 p.m. it is actually 17 degrees out! Beautiful! I'm getting to see and feel the sun's warmth every once in awhile when I take a break... first from housecleaning and laundry and now from sorting and purging my scrap paper box. OMG!! I'm a hoarder!! Save me from myself, puuleease!
I made good headway last night in sorting and organizing a stickers portfolio (didn't realize I had that many) and started on "project folders" that I bet I took to the last retreat and didn't work on. Don't even remember what the projects were supposed to be so I'm putting them back in my paper stash ... colour coding, of course. Not only am I a hoarder, when it comes to scrapbooking paper and supplies, I think the obsessive compulsive disorder might better describe me. I actually do use scraps from my stash; just not enough apparently.
This used to say, "Musings of a wannabe retiree/full time scrapbooker/ sewer/quilter/world traveller". However, I was forced to retire earlier than expected when I became too ill to work in May, 2016. So now I guess I'm going to remain a wannabe world traveller. Some day when we win the lottery I guess.

A good Easter after all?
We believe that we have found a good home for Lou near Swift Current. A grandma living on 9 acres who wants to teach her grandchildren about looking after horses. We sure hope so. Just waiting to see if she calls back tomorrow. We thought another family near Milk River was going to take Lou -- and we had good communication with that Mom but she didn't phone at 9:00 this morning like she said she would.
We also believe that we have sold the motorhome. A family with three young children. Because it is Easter weekend, we won't know for sure until we receive payment when the banks reopen on Monday.
I have been working steadily for a week on an album for my office. I have one more event to do layouts for. Then I had better smarten up and go through my photos and supplies to get things organized for what I want to take to our Scrapbooking Retreat. Only 20 more days left to go!!

Lou ~ you are breaking my heart!
We have had Lou, a Tobiano Paint gelding, for 7 years. He lives at our friends' ranch 15 minutes out of town with 5 other horses and he loves it there. He developed bone spurs in one of his knees so we decided he was "retired" because it would be too painful for him to be ridden. The vet told us that in order to ride Lou we would have to butte him (inject him with a pain killer which makes them kind of dopey). No thanks.
At first we thought we should donate him to a place in western Alberta that uses horses for therapy for children as they don't work the horses. My understanding is that a child sits in the saddle and the horse is led around an arena. Unfortunately they want shorter horses than Lou.
Never in a million years did we think that our friends would sell their ranch and move into the city. But that is exactly what has happened. They bought an acreage just outside of town and have listed their ranch for sale.
We thought that Lou would be able to live out his years in the pasture with his friends. Now we need to find a new home for him. We can hardly sell a horse that can't be ridden and I'm terrified that in trying to find Lou a home where he can live out his life in peace that we will be conned by a "meat buyer".
I'm praying for a wonderful solution to our dilemma.
