Thank you Natasha for the opportunity to pre-order hard to find DA pieces and to win your awesome giveaway!
This is my first "manly" layout I have attempted of my husband laying wood flooring in our Family Room. I have used several Dusty Attic chip board pieces here: Door #1 DA0692 which I inked with various different Tim Holz Distress Inks to achieve an old worn out look; small locks and keys DA0679; Door Handle Plates DA0681. I also used the Brick Wall Panel DA0316 as a mask using homemade dimensional paste and the brick pieces inked with Tim Holz's Aged Mahogany. The clock is from Scrap FX and is merely inked with Tim Holz's Weathered Wood.
This used to say, "Musings of a wannabe retiree/full time scrapbooker/ sewer/quilter/world traveller". However, I was forced to retire earlier than expected when I became too ill to work in May, 2016. So now I guess I'm going to remain a wannabe world traveller. Some day when we win the lottery I guess.

Masking with Lace
I tried masking using a piece of crocheted doily (I bought several at the second hand store to cut up and use on layouts). I probably would have been more successful if I had used an opaque ink spray. This first attempt was successful, but it is subtle and doesn't show up well in a photograph. I used Perfect Pearls Mists which creates a pearlescent shimmer. The colour is called "interference red" but it looks more like a soft pink.

There is another Fairy Princess Costume:
Larry has been renovating our family room. He tore out the carpet and laid hardwood floor. New baseboards are going back on now. We are waiting for the library wall shelving unit and mantle to be installed. They are being built off site right now. We're hoping they will come soon because we would like that done before the new recliner sectional arrives... that could be in one to two weeks.

Homemade Texture Past
I finally tried my first batch of homemade texture paste. I wanted to try making waves lapping at the shore of a beach for a l/o I wanted to do of Kristin Prior and her boyfriend goofing off at the beach in Camana, Peru.
It was actually pretty easy but takes quite a while to dry (especially when you do thick "waves" like I did).
Used Dusty Attic chipboard pieces:
Small Scroll #8 - DA0626
Small Nameplates #4 DA0585
Small Skeleton Clock DA0540
