Camping in the Kootenays

Hello Laura & Carrie (my computer is in the shop and Larry won't let me use Facebook on his laptop... if I access my email via the web it forever limits the size I'm allowed so I don't want to go that route again).   We are camping at Birch Grove RV & Marina 3 kms west of Balfour.  Took a drive to Kaslo yesterday after we got set up.  Visit with Gladys today after her lunch was over.  I've only talked to Marlene on the phone so far; Ed wouldn't drive in today - doesn't want to drive in two days in a row; and Larry won't drive out there...men!   Marlene is looking after Jacinda tonight (last sleepover before school starts) so they will bring her in with them to Nelson tomorrow to visit.  I asked Gladys what meal she is missing the most since moving and she says hamburgers and Chinese food.   So she has to decide which she wants most and we will have it tomorrow.   She was leary about coming out to our campsite so we will probably have to bring the food in to her apartment.   Had a good visit today.  gladys seems to be doing pretty well but is complaining about the meals. 

It has been in the low 30's but the next couple days it is supposed to cool down and possible showers. 

Our campsite is about 75 - 100 metres from the lake so we have our lawn chairs facing the lake and watching the boats go by... so nice.   

Summer Heat!

Soooo enjoying summer and hope that it lasts longer than usual... it started late so it should!  We've had a great weekend camping locally.  Came home this morning, did the laundry, and are heading back to camp with friends who are travelling back home to the island!  I know I'm going to hate getting up early to go to work tomorrow morning, but I'll enjoy stretching this weekend out as far as I can!
